These \u201cTres Cantos\u201d [\u201cThree Songs\u201d] are part of a project that is constituted by twelve fragments, written by four composers; that is were my arbitrary numeration comes from (III – V and IX). I included the number V from a non-exhaustive list of concentration camps, transit, illegal detention sites, gulags\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This terrible letany, intended to be spread from small speakers in the dress of the mezzo, can be a live performance or transmitted through an independent loudspeaker. In all these cases tha voice has to be perceived as an intrusion, as a \u201cpollution\u201d of the artistic space.<\/span><\/p>\n

I decided to set to music these texts including certain notes from the work of Abel Robino who realized twelve pandora \u201cboxes\u201d in the origin of the project.<\/span><\/p>\n

For the second text, that includes the letany, I decided to work over the German translation.<\/span><\/p>\n

III<\/strong>
\nLa caja de Pandora es el traje de cristal que nos cubre, como una lluvia que viaja desde el inicio de los tiempos, llev\u00e1ndonos por los aires en diminutas part\u00edculas, recorriendo nevados y cordilleras, r\u00edos, selvas, deltas volcados sobre ciudades populosas, hacia arriba y abajo, hacia afuera y adentro, como una m\u00ednima regi\u00f3n o espacio que ha olvidado su nombre.<\/span>

V<\/strong>
\nDie B\u00fcchse der Pandora ist eine hermetisch abgeschlossene, dunkle Behausung, die den Schmerz der ganzen Welt enth\u00e4lt, ihre Ungerechtigkeiten. Hier verharrt alles in kondensierter Form, lebendig, sicher verwahrt, in immerw\u00e4hrender Gegenwart. Hier sind die Gespr\u00e4che von Verwandten und Freunden, die sich verabschieden, bevor ihre Stadt dem Erdboden gleich gemacht und von der vernichtenden Horde des neuen Eroberers eingenommen wird. Hier sind die Kinder, die schlafen und nicht wissen, was sie erwartet. Hier sind alle Opfer der Geschichte, der Geschichte in Gro\u00dfbuchstaben, die unaufhaltsam fortschreitet: die Gefolterten, Verschleppten, Verfolgten, Verurteilten, Erschossenen, Verbrannten, Verscharrten, Einge\u00e4scherten und Vergessenen. Jetzt haben wir Februar 1944. Wir sind in Auschwitz-Birkenau, dem Stammland der K\u00f6nige und Herz\u00f6ge aus dem Hause Piasten, der Gr\u00fcnder Polens. Hier sind zwei Kinder, nackt und starr vor Angst, die sich umarmt halten, v\u00f6llig verschreckt, w\u00e4hrend das Gas ihre Lungen erstickt und sie an den Geschmack dieses trockenen und schmutzigen Schwei\u00dfes denken, den sie gemeinsam ausstr\u00f6men, und der auch der Geschmack des Sommers war. Dank der B\u00fcchse der Pandora strecken wir unsere Hand bis zu ihnen hin aus, um sie zu ber\u00fchren und sie an uns heran zu ziehen, bis hierher, in diesen Augenblick, dank eines Kniffes von Zeit und Raum, den unsere Kunst er\u00f6ffnet und gestattet.<\/p>\n

V.<\/strong>
\nLa bo\u00eete de Pandore est une maison herm\u00e9tiquement ferm\u00e9e et obscure qui garde toute la douleur du monde, ses injustices. Ici tout demeure en condens\u00e9, vif, r\u00e9cup\u00e9r\u00e9, toujours au pr\u00e9sent. Ici sont les conversations des parents et amis qui se disent au revoir avant que leur ville ne soit ras\u00e9e et conquise par la horde exterminatrice du nouveau conquistador. Ici sont les enfants qui dorment et qui ne savent pas ce qui les attend. Ici sont toutes les victimes de l\u2019Histoire avec majuscule, dans son avanc\u00e9e imparable\u00a0: les tortur\u00e9s, d\u00e9port\u00e9s, pers\u00e9cut\u00e9s, condamn\u00e9s, fusill\u00e9s, br\u00fbl\u00e9s, enterr\u00e9s, incin\u00e9r\u00e9s et oubli\u00e9s. Maintenant, nous sommes en f\u00e9vrier 1944, \u00e0 Auschwitz-Birkenau, sur la vieille terre des rois et ducs de Piast, fondateurs de la Pologne.. Ici sont deux gar\u00e7ons, nus et transis, qui se serrent dans les bras, terroris\u00e9s, alors que le gaz asphyxie leurs poumons\u00a0et ils pensent au go\u00fbt de cette sueur s\u00e8che et sale qu\u2019ils partagent, qui \u00e9tait aussi le go\u00fbt de l\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la bo\u00eete de Pandore, jusqu\u2019\u00e0 eux nous \u00e9tendons la main, pour les toucher et les tirer jusqu\u2019\u00e0 nous, jusqu\u2019ici, en cet instant, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un pli du temps et de l\u2019espace que notre art inaugure et permet.<\/p>\n

La caja de Pandora no tiene formas y las tiene todas. Es una nube. Se desplaza. La nube es un espejo en el aire. El espejo se quiebra y es un r\u00edo. Tambi\u00e9n se desplaza, hacia el mar de la Tranquilidad. El mar de la Tranquilidad est\u00e1 en la luna. “Por el cielo va la luna\/ con un ni\u00f1o de la mano”, escribi\u00f3 Federico Garc\u00eda Lorca en su Romancero.<\/p>\n
